My counselling journey

Thank you for taking a moment to read a bit about me! I have known since I was 14 that I wanted to become a psychologist, as I’ve always been deeply curious about people and relationships.

During my undergraduate studies, I became drawn to attachment-focused research, where I explored how our early experiences shape the way we connect with others and understand ourselves. This foundation continues to influence how I approach therapy today.

Alongside my academic training, I gained clinical experience supporting adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I often work with individuals who are thoughtful and self-aware, but still find themselves overthinking, questioning their needs, or feeling unsettled in close relationships — especially during times of change.

These experiences continue to inspire me and shape how I show up for clients, bringing curiosity, grounding, and understanding to each session.

My views and approach

Culture and Diversity

Having grown up in a Brazilian, family-oriented culture and moving to Canada as a child, I understand how culture, language, and family shape who we are and how we connect with others. I value the cultural, spiritual, or personal beliefs that are meaningful to you and welcome integrating them into therapy.

My Approach

I take an insight-oriented, relationally psychodynamic approach. I’m curious about how you view and understand the world, and by stepping into your perspective, I can help you make sense of experiences, navigate challenges, and strengthen your relationships. I draw from attachment-informed therapy, CBT, Emotionally-Focused, Strengths-Based, Spiritually-Integrated, and Narrative approaches, tailoring sessions to your needs.

Older Adults

Therapy for older adults is tailored to respect life experience and stage. Ageism and long-developed coping strategies can mask mental health concerns, and symptoms may be misattributed to aging. I aim to provide space for older adults to explore mental health in ways that honor their resilience and individuality.
